Individual Time Trials will release in “flights” or groupings not to exceed more than 20 participants per “flight”.  Final registration turn-out as well as age and gender mix will determine “flight” configuration.   As of this notice, the suggested flights are:

50 to 65 year old males
65 and older males
All women

Results will be based on age, not flight.  Event volunteers will keep an account of laps completed for each cyclist.  Cyclists will start with 30 second intervals between riders. Time Trial starts will be “one leg down”, self starts; (no assisted starts).  Once one flight is completed, there will be a 3 to 5 minute break before the next flight begins.

Mass Races will be limited in size to forty people per race, as per USA Cycling.  Once again, final registration turn-out as well as age and gender mix will determine field configuration.  These fields will be organized in the same manner as the time trials.  Each age group will be started and scored separately for results, and there will be a ten to fifteen second time gap between age group race starts.

The organizers reserve the right to combine fields.  Likewise, if the event turn-out is less than anticipated, we will revert back to holding all events as time trials as we feel a time trial format is both familiar and the safest way to conduct this event.

Please note: All athletes must be 50 years of age by 12/31/12 to participate, and the first four finishers would qualify themselves for Summer Nationals Senior Games in Cleveland in 2013.
