April 25th, 2012
Dear Potential volunteer:
The 2012 Keystone State Summer Games will again be held in Dauphin County. This year’s games promise to provide exciting competition as the games return back to the Harrisburg area. We are now seeking qualified volunteers to serve on our Medical Staff for the events. We anticipate over 6,000 athletes to compete in the
Keystone State Summer Games.
This year’s competition will be held Thursday August 2nd through Sunday August 5th and will utilize over 35 venues accommodating 31 sports. The major components of the Games are held Friday through Sunday and its this timeframe which necessitates as much help as possible. CME educational programs are being planned for and more information will follow. All KSG Medical Staff will be admitted at no charge. The program details will be announced to all registered Medical Staff. Your participation in the Games is essential to the successful implementation of our program, and we kindly invite you to spend as much time with us during the week as possible.
As we have done in the past, the Games will provide you with housing at local hotels and meals, medical shirts, travel stipend, transportation to sites if needed, plenty of work, and the opportunity to meet and work with professionals in Sports Medicine. This is a great opportunity to gain experience with the athletes. You will be fully insured during your work with us, and you will have the opportunity to select the sports you have selected. I have enclosed s preliminary schedule of events and the locations they will take place.
Please fill out the enclosed form telling us when you can join us, how long you can stay with us, what sport(s) you would like to work and housing information if needed. Please fill out the form in its entirety, and return to us by 6/15/12, or register online as medical volunteer here.
During the first week of July, you will receive another correspondence from us giving you final details and confirmation on your housing if this is required.
Remember, we are here to provide any information you may need, and to answer any and all questions you may have. Our Medical host, The Arlington Group and Pinnacle Health, can be reached at 717-652-9555 or KSG@arlingtonortho.net. On behalf of the Keystone State Games, we would like to extend our sincere appreciation to you for your time, consideration, and participation.
Sincerely Yours,
